At Nottingham Mavericks, there’s a team for everyone. With six teams competing from A Team through to E Team, there are opportunities to play, develop and compete at every level. Whether you’re looking to take your first steps on the ice through Learn to Play, or you’re ready to take your game to the next level, there’s a place for you at the Mavericks.
A TEAM
Our A Team competes in Checking Division 1 North, the highest level of competition within the Mavericks. The team features experienced players, including international-level talent and NIHL players.
B TEAM
Our B Team competes in Checking Division 2, providing a competitive environment for experienced players. The team includes former junior players and experienced recreational players.
C TEAM
Our C Team competes in Non-Checking Division 1, providing players to develop their skills. The team is made up of intermediate recreational players. The team is made up of rookie and recreational players, offering a great environment to develop skills, gain experience and enjoy competitive hockey
D TEAM
Our D Team competes in Non-Checking Division 2, providing a welcoming and supportive environment for players developing their skills. The team is made up of rookie recreational players, making it a great place to build confidence, experience and a love for the game.
E TEAM
Our E Team competes in Non-Checking Division 3, providing a friendly and supportive environment for beginner players. It’s a great place to learn the fundamentals, develop your skills and start your hockey journey with the Mavericks.
LEARN TO PLAY
New to ice hockey? Learn to Play is the perfect place to start. Our sessions introduce beginners to the basics of skating, stick handling and puck control in a fun, friendly and supportive environment. Whether you’re completely new to the ice or looking to build your confidence, we’ll help you take your first steps towards becoming a Maverick.
