Updated: Aug 4, 2021

Mavericks Head Coach eager to get 2021/22 season underway.

Returning Head Coach of the Nottingham Mavericks Reece Clarke has spoken of his excitement for the upcoming 2021/22 BUIHA Season.

"All of the coaching staff and I are very excited surrounding the onset of both a return to normality in ice hockey and the upcoming 2021-2022 campaign. The last 18 months have been extremely tough for everyone".

"At the start of the cancelled 2020-2021 season, we were fortunate to have on-boarded over 100 players which included an array of top-level international and GB talent across the setup. The club was extremely unlucky to have not been able to play games during last season as this year saw some of the best talent we had seen joining the club over the last decade."

As restrictions are lifted and a return to normality nears closer, Reece Clarke explained his plans and preparations to ensure all teams under the Mavericks are ready for the upcoming season.

"Moving forward, we are looking to host weekly summer sessions, friendly games and a pre-season training camp which should hopefully place us in pole-position to hit the ground running during the new campaign!."

Reece played university Ice Hockey at the highest level, skating in over 5 seasons with the Nottingham Mavericks and representing Nottingham Trent University at the annual Nottingham Varsity series. As a coach, Reece has secured two National Championship titles with the Mavericks C team and achieved two victories at our annual "Battle of Notts" Varsity event for Nottingham Trent University.

With Reece's experience and success in the BUIHA over the years, The Nottingham Mavericks are confident that the club is in safe hands going forward for the 2021/22 season.
